Welcome to Wilmot Jujitsu

Jujitsu, also known as Ju Jitsu, Ju Jutsu, and Jiu-Jitsu, is an ancient martial art used by the Samurai warriors of war-torn Japan. The art itself consists of punches, kicks, throws, ground-grappling, and weapons. Jujitsu techniques rely heavily on leverage, so you don't have to be extremely strong to train.

Karate has long since been an integral part of the Shinki Ryu’s System of Martial Arts. We are primarily a Jujitsu school. Yet, over the last century Karate has been practiced in parallel to many Jujitsu systems. Where Jujitsu has the training partners practice technique after technique in a repetitious style, Karate is valued for its ability to practice in a private and intense manor; with or without a partner/s. After years of study in the art of Karate one notices how the movements in the forms can mimic several jujitsu techniques. Karate forms are in fact a pneumonic for self-defense techniques.
I have endeavored to maintain Karate at our club. At times it is hard due to our space, but I believe that our students will find it valuable and physically beneficial.
With this being said, I would like to welcome a new assistant instructor – Mr. Kevin Reinhart. Kevin holds a Nidan (second degree) black belt in Shito Kai Karate, a sister system of our International Motobu Ha Shito Ryu Karate system. He is well versed in more common Karate practices and has been hoping to hone his Karate skill. Kenvin has also trained in Shinki Ryu Jujitsu and is presently a student at our dojo in the Ninpo Taijutsu classes. Kevin will be hosting Karate classes on scheduled Saturday afternoons, as seen on the above schedule. All Junior Jujitsu and Adults may take advantage of this class at no extra cost. The point is that you will have more space to practice your forms and there will be a good instructor there to help you with your form. Finally, for those that are interested, you may test separately for the I.M.H.S.R. Karate system, as I am ranked third degree black belt and am able to test all kyu or before black belt students.
Please take advantage of this extra class when you can.
I would like to thank Mr. Reinhart and our existing instructors for helping our club grow. We have several arts that can be taught and learned within the Shinki Ryu Martial Arts and Genbukan Ninpo Taijutsu systems. Perhaps, one day we will have young students grow into instructors that will be willing to learn, teach and share their knowledge of these many techniques.

Yours for Self Defense,

Neil Calhoun

Please pre book with me. Presently, two sessions a month are already full.
I will be holding another demonstration competition. It will be December 15th and will double as our Christmas party. I will be including the adults in the competition, for those that are interested. Will send out a a competition package soon that will talk about the changes that have been made, along with the new fees for the competition. We had a lot of fun with this last month.
I will be showing the video of the past competition this coming Saturday, during the Junior Jujitsu Class. The children have really been waiting for this, so please bring them by. I will be talking about how to improve the scenarios and reiterating some key points that Kiyoshi Crozier had made.

Hello everyone,

Remember that April, May and June fees are due. Please bring them this evening if you are coming or this Thursday if you are not attending classes Tuesday.

I hope that everyone that attended enjoyed the Taiho Jutsu seminar(oldstyle arresting art) this month with Shihan Crozier!

I know that we are all looking forward to the warmer weather. It will be nice to open the windows again, especially at the dojo. A reminder that as your child trains thirst does become an issue. It would be best that they bring a water bottle to class, much like hockey, lacrosse, soccer etc..... In case of emergencies i do have tea cups, but I cannot ganrauntee that they are always clean.

Summer Camps:
I will be holding summer camps for:

Tiny Tigers - August 4th and 5th

Junior Jujitsu - August 8 - 10th

There will be a package explaining the program along with registration fees by next week.

All my best,

Neil Calhoun
